Brink Group Funds Entrepreneurial Training of Budding Builders
A group of 30 people some with rudimentary building skills are undergoing entrepreneurship and business skills training, courtesy of the Brink Group. Currently in their fourth week, the training aims to upskill the learners some of whom, towards the end of 2019, benefited from a programme at the Pietermaritzburg and Midlands Chamber of Business funded by the Master Builders Association. However, the programme teaching basic bricklaying and plastering, basic plumbing and tiling, basic carpentry was put on hold due to the Covid disruptions with funding a key challenge.
The Brink Group stepped into the breach to fund this intensive programme for six weeks for the 30 trainees. The programme, taught by Shan and Shari Cade, includes training from the idea all the way to the start-up and includes topics like costing and pricing, selling and marketing, planning, and budgeting.
